LET THE JOURNEY BEGIN ...

Taking a Heart Care with Nestle Omega Plus!

12:17:00 AM

We used to think that heart disease only happen to elderly peoples, but in real life, it could happen to just ANYONE. I am in my late 20s, and admit it, we all think the same way in the past years, until one has happen among our friends and families, then we start to take it seriously.

I have friend who gets Coronary artery disease ( Artery blockage in heart ) at the age of late 30s, and I have friend who's uncle at the age of late 30s gets heart attack too.

As a Malaysian, it's a shame to say that our education isn't strong enough to deliver such simple and common knowledge to everyone, but a wrong message was delivered instead.

In fact, heart disease is preventative with heart care, it's just this matter is not in our top-of-mind. Research has proven that Malaysians in their thirties are now more likely to have arteries which are similar to a person aged seventy years old due to their lifestyles.

As simple as ONLY 3 key factors to manage your heart health holistically.

First - Daily Physical Activity. Spend as little as only 30 minutes every day to work out yourself and burn some calories, especially a simple walking more is a great way to improve heart health.

Second - Medical Check-Up. When your body doesn't shows you any sign and symptoms, it doesn't mean you are fully healthy, get a regular check up with doctors and ask questions about your numbers for blood pressure, cholesterol, heart rate, blood glucose and weight.

Third - Eat a balanced diet. One of the most important factor! We are what we ate, control your diet and eat healthy. Say "NO" to supper and snacks!

The world is changing and our lifestyles are different, the mindset of "I am still young" and "I don't need health care" is killing ourselves softly without any warning.

"The 2015 National Health and Morbidity Survey revealed that nearly 20 million Malaysians above the age of 18 years are at risk of non-communicable diseases (NCDs), which may in turn lead to the development of heart disease. One out of two Malaysians are suffering from high cholesterol. Heart disease manifests itself in many different forms – a heart attack, narrowing of arteries, abnormal heart rhythms, breaking down of the heart valve or heart muscle and degeneration of blood vessels, amongst others. Collectively they are known as cardiovascular heart disease, or CHD."

In order to carry out messages to peoples, brands such as Nestle Omega Plus have made it their mission to be Malaysia's heart health advocate as to encourage Malaysians to take action for their heart health now instead of much later when the symptoms of heart disease have already manifested!

Join Now!

On Saturday, 3rd September 2016, there's a Walk-A-Mile event carried out by Nestle Omega Plus and Yayasan Jantung Malaysia (YJM), you will see Malaysians young and old converge on Lake Gardens (Perdana Botanical Gardens) join the walk together, this is so far Malaysia's longest running walk for heart health advocacy!

“For the past 14 years, Nestlé Omega Plus has reached out to Malaysians to take charge and care for their heart through Walk-A-Mile in collaboration with YJM and we look forward with great excitement to sharing heart healthy activities with everyone at Walk-A-Mile. Caring for your heart does need to be a big monumental step, simply taking the stairs or swapping sugary treats with fresh fruits and drinking two glasses of Nestlé Omega Plus with added plant sterols daily to manage cholesterol can improve your heart health,” said Ng Su Yen, Business Executive Manager, Milks of Nestlé Malaysia."
