San Francisco, a city that is so far away from my hometown but yet I am so in love with, been there twice and I still wish that I could go back again and again. It is well known for its cool summers, fog, steep rolling hills, electric mix of architecture, and landmarks, including the Golden Gate Bridge, cable cars, the former Alcatraz Federal Penitentiary, Fisherman's Wharf, and its Chinatown district.

Tour around this city isn't hard, as long as you know how to read a map :) With their MUNI services, taking bus has never been so easy, however, be sure to prepare an exact amount before you put on a ride on the public bus. The map might be a little complicated since its huge, but don't worry, those attraction places that I mentioned above, they are all near to each other.

If you are considering renting a car in San Francisco, think again. The city's compact size, many one-way streets, and difficult or expensive parking makes driving more of a hassle than it's worth. The "Muni", San Francisco's bus and and streetcar system, can be quite crowded and sometimes irregular, too. But it is cheap at only $2.25 ( Youth, Senior, Disabled : $0.75 ) with a free transfer, and takes you most everywhere.

Tickets are sold on the bus, of course exact change required, or in Muni metro stations. Transfer last 90 minutes in any direction, although bus drivers often give you tickets with extra time. This means that for many trips you can go roundtrip for just $2.25! If you plan to see a lot of San Francisco and stay for a few days, invest in a MUNI Passport ( 1-day : $15, 3-day : $23, 7-day : $29 ), which are for sale at the cable car turnaround, and other outlets. These passes include rides on the must-see cable cars, which are ordinarily $6 each way, so the pass quickly pays for itself! A monthly pass is also available for $68.

This is the ticket that will be given to you on the bus itself, look at the time on the bottom part, it indicates the ticket is valid until that time. So, be sure to keep it with you and get unlimited ride on MUNI buses until times up! :)

On our first night, we actually walk from our hotel, which located hundred meter away from Union Square, pass by the Square you will come across Chinatown, a very decent and affordable meal can be find here. From Chinatown, simply walk a few streets to the most crooked street in the world, Lombard Street. By then, walk another few hundred meters, you will reach Fisherman's Wharf.

This cable car is in the center of Union Square, I am sure you will see the trail even if you can't see one.

Chinatown is easily recognize, it feels like in China more than in US LOL.

They say night walking in San Francisco could be a little dangerous, as they used to have prisoners & criminals. Just be more careful when you're walking late at night.

The next day in the morning, we departed to the famous spot, Golden Gate Bridge by taking a bus, no doubt :) You know you've never been to San Francisco if you haven't got one picture with that gate right?! Heheh. Be sure to get the details about the bus, as you will need to transfer to another bus in order to get to the bridge. You may walk along the bridge to the other side too.

Next, we took a bus to Lombard street again as we wanted to see it during daytime. In fact, there's nothing much to see here during night time, couldn't get a clear look at it.

And then, continue the same walk to Fisherman's Wharf, you wouldn't want to miss out these IN-N-OUT burger if you haven't try one!!

When you're already in Fisherman's wharf, what you gonna have is all about seafood! Many suggested to have a clam chowder here though.

From the wharf, don't miss out taking the historic streetcar, F line. The F-market line connects from Fisherman's wharf all the way pass through Union Square. However, we stop by at San Francisco Ferry Building on our way back.

After getting back to our hotel, we decided to give a look around the famous Haight-Ashbury street. Hence, we took another bus ride to the place. The neighborhood is known for its history of, and being the origin of hippie counterculture.
