Even though Malaysian government is doing their best in providing medical treatment, however it takes a long time to get the queue for surgery, and it was too expensive to go for private hospital.

A true story about Khazanah-IHH Healthcare Fund :

There was this elderly man name ‘Law Chi Hing’, diagnosed with cataract on both of his eyes, with a more severe clouding on the left eye. Law couldn’t move much due to his poor vision and has no choice but to reply on his three children to travel around.

We all know that how important is our vision to move around, but Law Chi Hing lives alone and his children has to take turns to bring him out during weekends after being diagnosed affected by cataract condition.

A cataract is a clouding of the eye’s natural lens, which lies behind the iris and the pupil and its more prevalent in individual age 65 and above. It could leads to blindness with untreated condition.

As Law’s usually run errands on his motorcycle but the usual errands were made difficult with the affected vision, and he had no choice but to burden his children.

When Law first consult the doctor, he was advised about the Khazanah-IHH Healthcare Fund. Law was very happy when his application gets approved, as he could not afford any cataract treatment with his monthly pension which was just enough to support his daily expensive.

As soon as he received treatment from IHH, he was amazed by the doctor’s professionalism as the doctor constantly communicated with him to ensure he is comfortable throughout the treatment and surgery.

With the successful surgery, Law is now able to carry out his daily errands, packing his meals from nearby hawker stalls and even paying his own bills. Most importantly, he feels at ease as he is able to be independent once more, no longer burdening his children.
